October 29 Update
Dear Friends and Members of Grace:
Last week we had a lively worship service with a lot of music, both through hymns and special music. Our guest “preacher” Paul Rumbolt brought a musical message, reminding us all of just how vital music is in our lives. Even the self-described “worst singer in the world” can be moved by the passion and energy of beautiful music. It lifts our souls.
And so, as we enter the colder days of fall in the lead-up to winter, I wish music for you. It can calm us, energize us, or change our mood from despair to hopefulness. This week, take a moment and find some time for music.
Grace Church music this fall will continue to include special duets and solos and masked singing of hymns accompanied by Paul Burke on guitar and Josh Lio on piano. In addition, we will welcome Kent Cheesman and his trumpet on Remembrance Sunday (November 7) and our choir with a Cantata presentation on December 19. It also seems likely that the children’s Christmas pageant on December 12 will have some music to share.
Let us know how music moves you. Are you musical? Do you play an instrument? We can always use more singers and players in our worship services. What kind of music speaks to you? I’d love to hear about your favourite kind of music.

Thank you one and all for your thoughtful support of the Building and General Funds to help ensure that our ministry will continue in the future. The response was inspiring! If you missed the Birthday Party last week, late gifts are always welcome!
